About Me

Colby is a photographer, photo educator and author based out of Eastern Pennsylvania. Specializing in landscape, travel and wildlife photography, his body of work spans the four corners of the globe and covers all 7 continents. He has been a Sony Ambassador and Sony Artisan since 2015.

He is also the founder of the humanitarian photo organization The Giving Lens, which blends the art form of photography with the focus and purpose of giving back to those in need around the world.

  • The train Cemetery in Uyuni, Bolivia is an incredible destination for astro photographers to get creative. The skies are so dark in this region that you can get Milky Way photos even as the approaching sunrise begins to lighten up the horizon. What an amazing destination!   • When it comes to wildlife photography, nothing on the planet can match the incredible experience of seeing Silverback Gorillas in the wild. These magnificent creatures have made a massive turnaround from almost going extinct in the early 90s to a healthy and growing population of over 1,200 individuals (between Uganda, Rwanda, and the Congo). I just wrapped up my annual Uganda Wildlife Workshop, and my clients had several incredible photo opportunities with these animals. Is photographing Gorillas on your bucket list?   • I think it is safe to say that the Fennec Fox is one of the cutest animals on the planet. These large eared mammals are found in Northern Africa in the deserts of the Western Sahara.
